Urban areas are facing increasing pressure to ensure sustainable food systems, improve living standards, and reduce socio-environmental vulnerabilities. These challenges can be addressed through insights derived from globally relevant research. Using a bibliometric analysis of 4,950 filtered documents retrieved from the Scopus database (2015–2024), this study employed VOSviewer (version 1.6.20) to examine co-authorship networks, keyword co-occurrences, thematic, and evolutionary patterns of agricultural technologies for urban applications. The results indicate a steady increase in publications related to urban sustainable development, with strong International collaboration among highly productive authors and leading research institutions, particularly in major scientific hubs across Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania. The findings reveal strong trends in innovation in urban agriculture, urban development, sustainability, and urbanization. The technological evolution of agricultural innovation for urban solutions progressed from an initial phase focused on problem definition (from early years up to mid-2019), to a system development and feasibility phase (from mid-2019 to mid-2020), and subsequently to a solution implementation phase (from mid-2020 onward), emphasizing resource optimization and enabling leading countries to enhance sustainability, productivity, and efficiency.
